History

The firm was established in 1922 by J.N. Desmarais as a sole practice, he was later joined by his son Robert, who is now the Honourable Justice Robert Desmarais. Subsequently, Messrs Keenan, Beaudry, Cull and Mahaffy joined the firm. Over the years, there have been a number of people who have joined the firm and retired and several have received judicial appointments. Desmarais, Keenan LLP firm is presently comprised of Douglas Bamberger, Marc Rémillard, Douglas Arthur and Michelle McAnulty (Partners), David Innes and Jim Young (Counsel), Bridget Jokitalo, William WIlkins, and Andrea Rossanese (Associates).

Desmarais, Keenan is one of the oldest law firms in Northern Ontario and has been providing various legal services to businesses and individuals of the Sudbury area for almost 90 years."
